Hello again,

So my husband has found a place where they will do his fingerprinting. However, they are going to do the fingerprints on their own fingerprint card, they will not use the FBI fingerprint card from FBI website. Will the FBi accept this?? Or it MUSSSTTTT be on the fbi fingerprint card?

It can be on a sheet of regular paper, but...why can't your husband print out the FD-258 (or is it 285?) card from the FBI website and take it with him?

when it's printed on printer paper, it doens't fit into the card holder normally used. it's ok to use the issued card, or just cut down the paper along the dotted lines so it fits. they will not use the print out if it doesn't fit.

When I spoke to someone at the FBI months ago, regarding this very question, I was told "We'll even take prints on a piece of regular paper."
As long as the prints accompany the proper paperwork (request form), that's all they need.

Using the FD-258 card is the obvious, first choice!

I just went to the local police office when I was visiting in Canada. They said they would not use paper printouts for some reason or another and would use their standard forms/cardstock. I double checked with the FBI and they said no problem if I use the Canadian form. Sure enough no problems got my report about 2 months after sending it in.

Thanks everyone!!
