Hi all,
I recently met my 3-year requirement as a PR to apply for citizenship. Unfortunately, I was living in the US with a work visa in the year prior to moving to Canada. I was a fool and hadn't noticed that I'd have to get a brand new police certificate since I visited the US for a few days after becoming a PR. I am now halted by this requirement.
The FBI should receive my fingerprints tomorrow, and their new eDO system means I should receive the electronic response from them by next week. My question for you guys is if the electronic PDF certificate that is emailed by the FBI is acceptable for the citizenship application packet? The checklist says "Original police certificates or clearances," so I am just confused as to whether I can mail my application using the electronic version or if I have to wait until the physical copy arrives in the mail. I really hope it's the former and not the latter! Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance!
