FBI clearance vs police clearance

I need some help!
After reading some threads I see that people are getting the FBI clearance.. I submitted my husbands papers with just the police clearance ... Should I be worried?.

They will either ask you to submit the clearance or return your application as incomplete. CIC seems to be nice lately and usually ask for missing documents.

It takes a while to get the FBI clearance, so I would go ahead and do it now. It's only $18 plus the cost of postage.

Where is the applicant living? Depending on where they currently live they may not need an FBI check (FBI is only for applicants that live or have previously lived in the USA), it maybe another Police Certificate http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp. Find the country on the map on the link and then follow the directions.

A Police Clearance Certificate is required from each country where the applicant has stayed for more than 6 months. For USA it is called 'FBI CLEARANCE. If your husband has never been to USA or has not stayed in USA for more than 6 months then there is no need to worry.

My husband is an American citizen and is currently living in the states.. I don't know how I missed this whole FBI clearance thing?. I just paid attention to the police one! I'm so upset I sent the package all in back in November... My husband is in the processs of getting it done and sending it off hopefully by Monday... Any way of expediting this with the FBI?. Also do I send the clearance to Mississauga once I get it or hold on to until requested??

There's no expedite option unfortunately. The only faster way is through a channeler but we've heard reports those are rejected.

If you have your UDI I would mail it with a note ASAP!
