Anyone has experience in getting an FBI certificate?

How long did it take you to get it?

Is this something I would have to do through police station in my country or can I just do the online thing on FBI website? CIC description is kind of confusing. It sounds as if though we shouldn't do it through police, but when i go to FBI website, it says there that if you do it online and not through police, that statement is only for your personal record and not official use.

Any help?

Thanks!

you can't apply online , CIC needs FBI report using finger prints . so you need to print a forum or use Police station forum , then mail it to FBI with credit card form , and wait for 3 months

tips
1) send 2 or 3 copies of finger prints , if your finger prints aren't readable , you will have to wait for another 3 months
2) make sure you double check all the information and check the checklist on FBI website

Thanks for the tip!

I was getting ready to mail the fingerprints form on Monday, and I will make sure to make several copies of fingerprints. 3 months is way too long to wait, but I haven't even submitted my EE profile yet, so I am hoping I'm getting a good head start on this.

Ok so I gathered all the forms and documents from FBI website and it all made sense until I stopped and thought: maybe I need to have someone else take my fingerprints. Until now I thought I just do it myself!

So please help forum friends: do I need to go through a police station or an agency and have my fingerprints taken by them and verified, or is this something I can do at home by myself and simply send the form to FBI?

It takes 14 weeks and its better to directly get it mailed to immigration office. You might be given extended deadlines.

good luck !

Note: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

I'm just wondering about PCC within Canada... Do we need results of fingers prints to send with your application after you have received ITA??
or just the criminal record check is good enough??

Thank you Everybody for your help!

we have to obtain Canadian PCC once we get request from CIC. No need to send it with PR application.

Thank you So much for your response...
But I heard they don't ask you for additional info under express entry?? instead they will just send the rejection!
Have you heard that they are asking for it??

Yes.. You will get RCMP request during the processing of your PR application.
