FBI Background Check

Hi,

We have mailed out the application to get an FBI Background check on November 1st and haven't heard back from them yet. Now the problem is that Immigration Canada only gave us 90 days to submit this document and we're getting close to that timeline.

Does anybody have an idea on how to contact CIC Mississauga to tell them our problem and ask if they can extend our 90 day period?

Also, does anybody know if they continue on our application during this time? Or does it just sit somewhere untouched waiting for our background check to come back?

Do you have a spot in your CIC account where they want you to upload your certificate?
If so, according to CIC instructions you need to upload your receipt of submission from the FBI and a letter telling CIC when you expect to get the certificate back (it takes 14-16 weeks)

Once you get the actual certificate, you will upload that via the IRCC web form/case specific inquiry.

If you don't have the spot on your account where you can upload, you can submit your extension request via the IRCC web form as well.

Yes I do.

I never got a receipt of submission. I hope a dated receipt where I got my fingerprints done with my name on it will do...
