Hi,

I am kind of confused about filling out the fd-258 form.
What should I fill in for the 'officials taking fingerprint' and 'reason fingerprinted'. Also, do we put our Canadian SIN number on the social security number? Please help!

about your question of SSN is applicable only if you have a SSN of the US. (us students, j1 and h1b visa holders in the US may have a US SSN)

Hello there,

If there is anyone who can throw a light on my case, would greatly appreciate.

I had sent my fingerprints to FBI for PCC on 3rd Oct. Through my courier tracking I came to know that it was delivered to the address on 7th Oct.

Its been a month now and my Credit Card has not been swiped for payment of $18.00.

How do I know whats my PCC status? Or any idea when will my case open? Or how do I track it?

Here's my timeline to give you an idea of how long the process is. Mine took 10 weeks.

FBI received my request on August 15, 2016.
Credit card was charged on September 26, 2016.
Report was done on October 14, 2016.
Result was mailed out to Manitoba on October 18, 2016.
Date we actually received the PCC was on October 26, 2016.

Good luck. You don't have to worry right now. After your Credit Card has been charged wait for at least 3 weeks to a month before calling the FBI about your PCC. If you call and ask them, they will let you know if they're done with the result or if they have mailed it already.. I called them 9 weeks after sending the application..

Just one question...when you say "FBI received my request on August 15, 2016." do you mean...you got any email or intimation from them confirming the receipt? Because uptill now I have no confirmation from them EXCEPT that my courier receipt tells me that my parcel has been delivered to that address!
