FBI Background Check Validity Time Frame

I got a FBI background check, which I received in December 2014 and I'm planning on applying through the EE system sometime in July or August of this year. Does anyone know if my current FBI background check will still be valid or if I will need to get a new one? If not, what is the time frame for which an FBI or police check will be accepted by CIC?

Are you in the US, or have you left? If you are in the US, or got the certificate while you were living there, it will be valid for 6 months. If you left the US and then got it, and you haven't lived in the US since December 2014, it's good indefinitely.
 
I've been a Canadian resident since 2012 and I also got the certificate while I was living in Canada. Do you know if there are any CIC articles or links that explain this as well?

"Who needs a police certificate?
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator."
