Dear All,

In my passport and police clearance, my father's name spelled as Mohammad AAAA BBBB where in all documents, its written as Md. AAAA BBBB. My question is, should this be an issue? Anybody had similar problem? Not to mention that Md. stands for Mohammad.

I come from a bilingual country (One of the two national languages is English). When I applied and had to supply documents, my issue was my Birth Certificate: because my name was written in English. Everything else was in the other language including my passport. Funnily enough, the English language version of my name looks nothing similar to the other language.

In the end I contacted the registrar of Births in my home country and they supplied me a letter explaining that we can use our name in either national language and the letter showed my name in the two languages.

Maybe you could get something similar from your country and send it along with your documents?
