Fastest way to get PCC from India for my husband (who is from Pune, Maharashtra) and me (from Delhi) while in USA during Covid times

We recently got ITA and are living in USA for last 5 years. Prior to that both my husband and I were in India in different cities (Pune and Delhi). This page says walking-in is the fastest way to get (Police Clearance Certificate) PCC from Consulate in SFO (https://www.cgisf.gov.in/page/pcc-police-clearance-certificate/) But it's unclear whether we can just walk-in amidst Covid. Other way is sending passport but it's not mentioned how much time that process would take or for how long our passport would be gone since it requires sending our passport in mail.

Can someone guide us what can we do in this circumstances? What's the fastest way to get PCC for India stay while in USA during Covid times?

Pretty sure consulates are closed right now so walk-ins aren't possible.
