Hello,
I would appreciate an advise from someone experienced in this topic...

My outland family sponsorship is ongoing for 10 months now (since our application was received), however my passport is about to expire in 4 months.

I need a new passport to be able to travel in the meantime.

Would taking a new passport somehow affect the sponsorship process? I applied with the current passport that won't be valid at the moment when sponsorship process ends.
Is it safe to take a new passport before the process end?

Thank you in advance.

Are you the sponsor or PA?

I either case, perfectly fine to get a new passport and will not affect your sponsorship. If you are the sponsor, no need to tell CIC. If you are the PA, they will ask for a copy or the original passport anyway (depending whether you are visa exempt or not) immediately before CoPR, as the CoPR is cross-indexed against your passport. Keep you old passport and have it with you when you land just in case.
