Hi! My father submitted my application in Canada (I'm still a dependent and living outside Canada) and was received by the Processing Center -Sydney NS around second week of June 2018. I checked the assesment time for dependents which is 45 days if I am not mistaken. Now I'm still waiting for approval of my application and it is 60+ days already. I always check my email and application status but still no update. Is this normal? What should I do? Do I need to send another copy of my application?

the sponsor should get notification that they have passed the assessment, after which you should get notification your application has begun processing. Best advice I can give you is, expect it to take 11 months. Notification usually happen, but sometime they forget to update them, so don't panic if you don't see anything happening. We went from sponsor approval to we need more information to receipt of the COPR in just over 2 months, with virtually no updates. Often, if it's a straight forward application, things will move quicker than expected.
