Hi, So i seems to keep on making problems for my self when it comes to trying to get sponsored to stay in canada. I have been with my Canadian girlfriend for 3-4 years now and she has decided to sponsor me. I have been on a tourist visa since February and applied for my PR and OWP under the new pilot programme which they received on July 16th. Worrying about my application as i always do and trying to find the status of my OWP i realised that i had not payed the full amount. For some unknown reason ( probably stress). I only ended up paying the 100 Open work permit fee not the $155. Im really panicking now. ITs been 3 months and after a lengthy phone call to cic trying to resolve this problem i been told that theres 2 outcomes: a) my OWP gets returned and refused or b) they will send me an email asking to pay the fee.
To add to this if my visa does get rejected, my passport is only valid till january (as i was only issued a 1year passport because i lost them in a short space of time) and i will no longer be in implied status. SO I'm wondering what are the chances i will get an email to pay the fee?
And should i a) just resend a OWP with a visitor visa application in anticipation of it being rejected. With my passport expiring in jan.
b) apply for a passport renewal then send off a application when i find out in 4- 5 weeks which should be around the time my passport comes back.
Also my girlfriend wants to go do a full time art school for a while, we do have saving which can support us for a bit longer but we were relying on my permit to be here before christmas.
Any help or anyone who has been through similar problems would be greatly appreciated.
