Good day,

I am kindly asking for advise from the experts here.

I received an ITA on Friday and am in the process of completing the application. It asks about family members (sisters, parents brothers) and their current country of residence. My issue is my mom and sister are currently living in the US but have lost their legal status.

Where should I put for their country of residence...the US or their country of origin?

Put the US, as that is where they are currently residing.

They're not moving with you nor are they on the application. I doubt CIC is going to penalize you for actions of your non-dependent family.

It has no weight on you what your adult family members do. If the note says they should have legal status ... put in your application where they are presently residing and for your peace of mind you can explain their status in an LOE.

But it shouldn't affect you in anyway.

Good luck!
