I don't really understand why these are two separate documents.

My brother is a Permanent resident. Now, if I submitted a paper that basically proves he has a PR (PR card or so) so what about the family member proof of status then ?

This is the description of the family member proof of status.

You must provide a copy of your family member's Canadian Citizenship or Canadian immigration status document (e.g. Canadian passport, Permanent Resident Card, Study Permit, or Work Permit). Please provide a copy of both sides of the document.

You must provide supporting documents to prove:
  • your relationship to your brother or sister
  • your brother or sister's status in Canada (permanent resident or citizen)
  • that your brother or sister lives in Canada
Examples of supporting documents:
  • birth certificates (must contain the names of the parents)
  • marriage certificates
  • legal adoption documents
  • any other documents that prove or describe the relationship between you and your brother or sister (this could include supporting documents to prove the common law relationship between your two parents)
  • a copy of your brother or sister's Canadian Citizenship or Canadian immigration status document
  • a copy of your brother or sister's bank statement or utility bill showing their address in Canada
Any help on that would be much appreciated.
Hey, I am in the same situation. What did you finally upload under family member proof of status?

Yes, your sibling's medical card proof.
Some of the medical card contains address as well.
im really confused on what to do.. I have my sister who is Canadian and my other sister she's PR. I have a sibling who is living in Canada on work permit and 2 other siblings in Canada on study permit. Now for Proof of residency in Canada of sibling, Proof of sibling relationship and Family Member Proof of Status do I submit documents for all siblings or for just the 2 siblings that's PR and Canadian or I'll be submitting documents for just 1 sibling (Canadian sibling)? I am applying for PR for just myself.

I believe the question is related to your PR sibling only if in case your both sisters are PR then documents for both of them should but provided but in this case only the PR sister's proof of residency is enough because you are getting point for that.
For a work and study permit sibling, you just need to mention their details in the family form.
This is my understanding, please also check with the expert.
All the best!!!

Are you trying to gain points because your sibling is a PR or sibling?
