Hi there . i will be applying soon for immigration to Canada for a skilled worker , i know that you get more points for having family in Canada , i have found out that i have a family member living in Canada but they are not immediate family . Its actually my step mums fathers sister . So my Step Grandfathers sister . Does this count ? Bearing in mind i have never meet the woman before can i still use this as a family member ?

Thanks

parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, child of a parent, child of a grandparent, or grandchild of a parent award you 5 points...

so, assuming your stepmom to be a parent.... step mom's father is a grandparent.... but, step grand dad's sister is not fitting anywhere... so, you should leave those 5 points out of consideration...
