Hi Experts!
I am about to apply for the Post Graduate Work Permit (within two weeks).
But because of my passport's valid period (also known as expiry date), I think I will get only a year and half length of the work permit.
I can renew my passport a year later only ...
On this forum I saw a lot of people talking about this (extending the work permit)..
I wonder if there is any one who has tried to extend for the PGWP a year later..
also if any one has applied for the extension and/or actually received the extenstion
How did you do that? Can you share with others please? :D

I am dealing with a similar issue so I am just going to paste what someone told me in this forum. Hope it helps.

"Yea if it says like that, it can be extended. but your passport must have validity to support the date. i had same problem and few other people on the forum. check the topic: lets share timeline pgwp march applicant
another link on this forum: pgwp extension.

steps:
1- get your passport renewed
2- get your application package ready
3- apply on paper (few people applied online but it seems like they require LMIA or something to apply online. but in your case it will be the extension of PGWP. so you might have to apply on paper only) confirm it with cic agent.
4- wait for processing time to complete. it is taking around 97 days these days for the application to process. so i would suggest you to apply asap.

Cheers !!"

What if we are in Canada just about to apply for PGWP and our passport is about to expire??? what do we have to do in this case?

I would apply for passport as asap. within 3-4 weeks, I applied my passport while I was studying and it got extended in 3 weeks, You will get your passport renewed as well then you will 90 days from your graduation to apply for PGWP. don't take the chance and apply for work permit extension later.
