Hello,
Any help/insight much appreciated

My in laws have been given a 2 year multiple entry TRV. However they of course can only stay for six months. We would like to extend their stay past the 6 months for a another 3 months or so and I have a few questions.

It appears that we can apply online to extend the visitor visa

- is it okay if we apply 3 months in advance to extend the visa? (we have a valid reason, we are expecting a child)
- Do they need to exit the country during this process at all? (I have heard conflicting reports on this)

Thanks much for the help

George

No such thing as "extend visitor visa". It is called "extend visitor status".

Too early. Preferably 30-15 days before, no more.

No.

Shouldn't it be a minimum of 30 days before? 15-30 days is too late. be careful.

No.

Applications submitted before 30 days are sometimes rejected and advised to reapply when the expiry date is closer
