Extension of visito visa with in canada

Hello,
My mother's passport says, she must leave Canada by MArch 02, 2017. I originally thought that it was MArch 27, 2017. Is it too late for me to apply for an extension of her tourist visa. Its only 9 days from now before MArch 02. I understand this is my error.

No - it's not too late. Make sure the extension application reaches CIC before her status in Canada expires.
