Extension of Post Graduate Work Permit while PR in process

Dear Friends,
I am on post graduate work permit (1 year) which is due to expire on 30 June 2010. My second stage documents were submitted to Buffalo Consulate on 30 March 2010 so there is no hope that I will have my PR before March 2011. However, I would like to stay in Canada as long as legally possible to gain Canadian experience and recoup funds invested in my career.
My occupation will not qualify for LMO approval. Will appreciate comments from the seniors and those who have already been through similar situations with regard to options available such as apply for work permit extension or visitor visa (likely to be rejected) to stay on 'implied status". Which is the best legal, workable and most economical option?

Don't know what you mean by "my occupation will not qualify for LMO approval" - do you mean it is not a skilled occupation (NOC O, A, or B)?

He mean he is not eligible for work permit based on LMO.

I think you can stay upto 3 months on visitor visa (implied status) after expiry of your current visa.

No, you can't if the OP hasn't applied for an extension as either a worker or visitor, there is no implied status.

Yes, but that is not what you said "I think you can stay upto 3 months on visitor visa (implied status) after expiry of your current visa."

Guys, please what is implied status in clear terms?

OP you could take up language training of 6 months.

or get a PNP - its no easy route as you need to apply for jobs.

Or if you have a friend who has a Company in Canada and has a job opening in shortage area, He could employ you and get you a work permit. I hope this helps.

Or get a job as live in care giver.

You can apply for a Visitor's Status....you will be on implied status for a couple of months and then if approved, you'd be given a Visitor's status. You still run the risk of not having a valid status till March 2011.

Best option might be to go back to school; At least, you are developing yourself while waiting with a valid status. Goodluck.
