Extension and approval

Hello,

I came to Canada in August and had a valid Visa till January 24th. I applied for an extension as a 'Visitor' through online cic portal.The application got approved and my visa has been extended for another 3 months. I am worried if I need to get my passport stamped? They only asked for an online copy of my passport at the time of applying online. I was never asked to submit my passport over by post. Will it cause any trouble?

I would highly appreciate a response. I have to catch a flight in a week's time and I'm worried sick over it!

So assuming you are still in Canada and planning to leave why are you worried given nobody checks your Canadian visa status at the airport when leaving Canada.

As you say you received an approval of your visit extension and even whilst waiting for the approval you were on an implied status as well so you have the documentation you need as backup anyway.

Note though that extensions, that is extend stay as a visitor, in effect become invalid get once you leave Canada so are no use for returning back, if not visa exempt you would need a new visit visa.
