Extending visa in Canada

I would like to know if someone would like to extend his study visa in Canada, will he have to go through the same process and same documentation again or will it be little easier.

I think it would require less documentation .
Can you tell me if i need to pay complete 1st year tution fees under university category or 1st semester fee is enough?
Have paid the gic and have enough funds in bank and FDs.
I am applying to university of calgary for fall intake.

Hi actually I wouldn’t know much about it myself. I’m only on exchange student visa here in University of Toronto and thinking to take admission in one of the colleges in order to gain further residency. But don’t if it’ll work out this way.
