Hi, everyone
I applied for extension on my visitors visa since my 6 months was coming soon but I heard that it could take up to 100 days to get approved and my 6 months are almost up. Could I stay pass my 6 months while I'm waiting for answer?

Thank you.

Yes, you can stay until you get a decision. You will be on implied status

@Bryanna what about if extension is rejected? have to leave right away or what? and will it impact in future history like extra questioning from CBSA like why you were in for so long why you came again etc after xx time asking just for knowledge and information

The visitor must leave in a reasonable amount of time, maybe 30 days max. In some cases, the refused visitor may not have to leave/may have other options to stay unless the refusal letter states otherwise.

CBSA always has the final say to determine the length of admission at the POE. That said, it's best to remain outside the country for about the same time that someone stayed in Canada... before attempting another entry
