Does this mean the date of the first time I ever set foot into Canada?
Because next it asks when was my most RECENT entry into Canada....

Anybody?????? :-\

I'm pretty sure that original entry, means just that.

If you don't recall the exact date, simply attach a separate sheet of paper with a brief explanation.

Don't stress! ;)

I'm confused still D: Sorry. Sometimes I take a bit to understand something.

Original entry means "just that". Just what???
The first time I traveled to Canada as a visitor?

The first time you travelled to Canada if you only travelled to Canada once.

If you ahve visited Canada on many occassions the date you put in is the date of your last time you entered canada.

Ok. SO it'd be my last entry into Canada?

Someone else asked the same question here:

http://www.canada-city.ca/canada-immigration/posting.php?messageid=30018

Hope that helps.

But let's wait for other members to chime in :).

Hmm.. interesting. I will wait for more responses but if not I guess I will be put my first time ever in Canada (preceding when I met my husband)

We used the entry date my wife first entered Canada before she met me. We didn't use the recent entry as she was in Canada before so we used the date my wife originally entered Canada.

and what if you don't actually know your first date you ever entered canada? i mean, i travelled to canada many times before meeting my husband, and couldn't even tell you when the first date of entry was. i'm pretty sure it was when i was a child.

My answer to the question was the first time I ever stepped foot into Canada, which was several years ago.
That was my original entry into Canada.

This is one of those questions that appears to have little, if anything, to do with why you are now applying for PR.

If you answer with whatever the date was that you originally entered Canada, how could that be a wrong answer?

Just curious why you are not submitting an Open Work Permit application, rather than extending your visitor status?

Are you an Outland applicant?

Ok. Seems I will enter the first time I ever traveled to Canada. Thanks for the input everyone!!

I am an outland applicant. I don't see a reason to submit an open work permit and have never read of someone applying outland, apply for a OWP.

Man I'm so frustrated. CIC's online services is not working. I'm trying to figure out specifics for the photo because it's on my "personal checklist" of things to submit with the application. But the website won't let me get to that part!!

Agreed. Since you are not eligible for an OWP, as an Outland applicant, why bother. ;)

I have had to answer this question a few times when I applied to renew my Temporary Resident Visa.

Date of original entry = date of your very first visit to Canada

Most recent entry = if you have been in and out of Canada since your original entry, then put the date you last entered Canada.

If you have not left Canada since your "original entry", then your most recent entry is the same as your original entry.
