Extended Work Permit and Requirement to Leave Canada

Dear Friend,

I am a U.S. citizen with a valid work permit (NAFTA TN-Professional) for 2013-2014 which expires in October.
It reads: "Must leave Canada by 2015/10/01."
I extended my work permit online successfully, continuing the same employer and general restrictions and received the new permit by mail.

I'd like to prevent forced removal...
Do I have to leave Canada and re-enter according to the expiring work permit, or does my new work permit "leave by 2015" override the previous note?

You don't have to leave Canada, you can stay until the validity of your latest work permit.
