Hello everyone, I just wanted to know that will there be any problem if I take a study gap of 8 month in between two programs? I just completed one program here in Toronto and is waiting to start school again in September! Initially I applied for study permit extension for May semester and got that approval bur due to some unavoidable circumstances I have to defer that semester to September! Please let me know and thanks in advance!

You should be OK provided you don't work between the time the first program ends and the second begins.

Hey '
Yes buddy syllca is right !
By the way I am on study permit I was in private career college and just find out early by the first month a start schooling that they are not eligible for PGWP so I withdrawn and they full refunded me. After, I consulted with immigration lawyer and inform me no work on SIN until you start school at September then one month before your permit expire I have to do extension.
By the way, I applied at Holland college in PEI.
Syllca you should study law ;) :)

See section on issuance validity here specifically reference to 2 programs http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/post-grad.asp

Quote from CIC site

If a student obtained a one-year degree, diploma or certificate from an eligible institution in Canada after having obtained, within the prior two years, another degree, diploma or certificate from an eligible institution in Canada, the duration of the work permit may be up to three years.
