I came to Canada in 2012. At the time my employer got an LMO exemption and I got here on an intra company executive transfer. I got my first work permit only for one year, then applied for renewal and got it for another 3 years. My employer did not have to apply for LMO again. For my position I am eligible to apply for another 2 years once my current WP expires but now LMO was replaced by LMIA. Does my employer have to apply for LMIA exemption now or will it be recognized that for my position my employer did not need LMO?
