Hello
My cousin is in Canada with Tourist Visa 5 month there
He wants to extend his stay in order to stay 6 other months
Can he extend his stay, or what does he need to do this?

Thank you

Highly unusual for a young person to be able to have the funds to be able to not work for a year and live in another country. Is this a family member or a relationship? Anticipate your cousin will have to show that he/she has enough savings so they can support themself. Also prepare for a chance that the extension could be refused.

It might give IRCC the impression that your cousin is working illegally. Also, is this a relationship and not a family member?

What is the reason for seeking the extension?

He is trying to find a work contract and also to start Expres Entry Form
If that's what he says in his extension application - he can expect to be refused.

If he has been working illegally then any unauthorized work experience gained as a visitor will not count towards his Express Entry.

It would be wise for him to return to his home country. He can create the EE profile from outside Canada too

He can also find work contract and enter LMIA I think
I'm not sure what you mean by "enter LMIA". The LMIA is something his employer must obtain. This is a 4-6 months process. He cannot work until after his employer has obtained an approved LMIA and until after he has received an approved work permit based on that LMIA.

Generally speaking, it's next to impossible to find employers willing to go through the LMIA process since it's long and expensive with no guarantee of approval.

Very hard as I see now
I was thinking that LMIA starts in time that my friend gets accepted by his Employer.
