Hi,

I am a software developer and am currently working in US on L1B visa. I want to apply for Canadian PR under Skilled worker through Express Entry. I am yet to give my IELTS. But before that I want to get all the things ready by then, so that I can apply for the Visa, once i get my IELTS scores.

As I submitted for free assessment here, I received an email and a call from the attorney. My question is, is it worth and helpful to submit through the attorney? And how can find out how genuine the attorney firm is?

Thank you

I suggest that you do it on your own. No attorney or consultants are required. Just read the website. Its very clear on what and how to do things.

I agree with this. I'm in the US and when I started EE I talked to a lawyer. They were going to charge a ridiculous amount for something that they had little knowledge around. I realized I could do to myself a lot faster and cheaper.

Hi, I have done my masters in Computer Applications in India. I would like to get my education assessment done by WES ( World Education Services). Is this reliable?

A lot on here seem to use WES and I've read mixed reviews. Personally I used University of Toronto Compartive Education Services and had no issues. They were very quick to respond to questions.

WES is reliable and efficient. I got my Education Assessment done through them. As far as I know most of my friends used WES services (when I say most of my friends the number is greater than 25).

I agree that WES has mixed reviews and the experience working with them is not too great. But once you submit them the documents they take about 20 days to evaluate them, which is not the case with most of the assessment agencies.

My recommendation - get your ECA done through WES

If your case not complicated or difficult to do, you can apply by yourself. However, before applying for permanent residence, you should reseach information from Canadavisa forum as much as posible. Also, all seniors willing to give all information if you have any doubt or concern.

All the best

Thank you Pavan. I see different packages over there, WES ICAP and WES Basic. Which one is the best? I prefer to go with Course by Course evaluation and a duplicate report for each.

For immigration there is only one. No choice for you.

Attorneys delay the cases, charge huge amount, and always you are at their mercy.

Canada PR is a simple, straight forward process. Attorneys help is not required.

Just follow this forum, where all or majority of the members will help you at each stage of the process.
