Express Entry Steps - UAE

I. The process
  1. Create an account – (see section III.b)
  2. In your account, you will “Apply to come to Canada” and choose Express Entry and create a profile by filling some information related to your:
    • Skills, Education, Language ability, Work experience and Other factors
  3. Based on your provided information, your profile will be assessed and ranked and will be given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, and you profile will be put in the Express Entry pool.
    • Use the (CRS) tool to know your score before applying. CRS
  4. “Approximately every two weeks, the Canadian government conducts an Express Entry draw with a CRS cut-off score.” (The time between draws have changed due to the pandemic)
  5. If your (CRS) score is above the cut-off score, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. (candidates with scores above the cut-off score will receive an ITA)
  6. “When you receive an ITA, you are given 60 days to complete and submit an official electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR)” (The time have changed due to the pandemic) with all the required documents that will be given as a checklist, including but not limited to:
    • Passports/ Travel Document
    • Proof of upfront medical exam (see section III.d)
    • Proof of PR/ Citizenship of sibling (copy of passport or PR card of sibling) – If Applicable
    • Proof of residency in Canada for sibling (student enrollment letter, employment letter, utility bills, A residential lease, Mortgage document, etc.) – If Applicable
    • Proof of sibling relationship (Your birth certificate and sibling birth certificate, family book, etc.) – If Applicable
    • Education diplomas degrees (see section II.A)
    • Employment Records (see section II.E)
    • Police Certificate (see section II.D)
    • Proof of means of financial support (An original bank statement with the bank’s letterhead, stamped and signed by the bank. The stamp should be physical and not generated by computer) – minimum amount you need to immigrate to Canada based on Number of immigrating family members is found at Proof of funds.
    • Digital photo (see photo requirements in your application)
  7. Pay the fees and submit the application
    • Permanent Residence Application Fee: 550$ CAD
    • Right Of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) – If applicable: 490$ CAD
  8. Wait for application approval!
Note (1): all the documents must be in English. If the documents are in another language, get them translated by a legal translator)

II. Before Applying

A. Education Credential Evaluation (This step will take some time, so do it ASAP)

  • You can do this step by using one of the designated organizations. In this document, only the process through WES is presented.
  • Get a credential Evaluation of your Education from World Education Services (WES)
  • Create an account
  • Apply for Document-by-Document Evaluation Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
  • Include Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as Recipient
  • Pay the application Fees
  • The website will provide you with a reference No. that is also part of a mailing address

  • Request your transcript and diploma from your college in a sealed and stamped envelope
  • Send the sealed documents to the mailing address with your reference No. through a courier (DHL, FEDEX, etc.)
Note (2): Some colleges will send your sealed documents directly to WES

B. Language ability (This step might take time, so do it ASAP)
  • You can apply with either of the following certifications: IELTS, CELPIP-G, TEF Canada or TCF Canada. In this document, only applying for IELTS is presented.
  • Apply for General Training IELTS exam either through IDP or British Council
  • “To apply for permanent residency through Express Entry, you need to have a minimum language proficiency of CLB 7, which is a minimum of 6.0 for each section of the IELTS.”
  • The higher the scores, the higher the points you get
  • You can apply either a paper based exam or computer based exam

C, National Occupational Classification (NOC)

  • Use this link to know your occupation NOC No. which will be used in the application.

D. Police Certificate
  • Apply for Criminal Status Certificate using the UAE MOI application available for android and Iphone.
  • Choose the purpose of use: Use outside the country
  • Choose the country: CANADIAN
  • The certificate will be emailed to you but with a red watermark instructing you to visit UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to get the original copy along with attestation.
  • Visit Yas Center Tasheel in Musaffah area (map below) with a copy of the email certificate to collect the original certificate.

E. Employment Records
“The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:
  • A reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
    • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
  • If the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).”

  • Travel History (provide details of any trips you have taken outside your country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since your 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago) – from what date to what date, country of visit, City/ town or region of visit, purpose of travel
  • Education History (provide university, college or vocational training periods of study. It will be used to assess your eligibility for Express Entry, and use them to calculate your score)
    • Field of study

d) Step 4
Upfront Medical Exam – You will receive a correspondence in your account asking you to do the upfront medical exam with details

e) Step 5
  • Payment of Biometric Fees – You will receive a correspondence in your account asking you to pay the Biometric Fees. Pay the fees online and provide your biometrics as detailed in the correspondence.
    • Biometric Fees – per person: 85$ CAD
    • Biometric Fees – per family (2 or more people): 170$ CAD

Great work man! You really simplified things and made it clear. I hope people can learn from this thread and make their profiles instead of paying thousand of dollars to representatives that end up messing up their application!
The situation is UAE is far easier compared to other countries when it comes to applying for express entry. Ielts exams are readily available in both computer based (More Recommended) and paper based. PCC is easily obtainable and bank statements take few days to be ready and stamped.
Most universities in UAE have agreement for sending documents online to WES and it takes a week to finalize it while the old method took 2-3 months (Mailing it).
Slots are available always for biometrics, and medical exams and results are transmitted online in the same day or a day later.

All in all, the whole process is fairly easy and should take few days post ITA to reach AOR. My only hope is that IRCC resumes draws for all programs so people can be accepted.

Hi, did you got the information sheet printout right after your medical exam or did it take time?
