Year of foreign experience while studying in Canada?Hello. I just submitted it and got the same ineligible error message. Any other reason it might be like that? My experience clocked a year in September.
I did review all the questions carefully. I really took my time this time around before I submitted it.
I asked you if you were applying through FSW or CEC. You said FSW so you have one year of full-time, continuous foreign work experience in one NOC.When you say foreign, do you mean the experience from my home country? I did not include any related experience to my primary job.
I only included the 1 year experience I got here.
How could you work full time while studying in Canada? Was this remote work? If remote, did company have no ties to Canada? Most of the experience was gained while I was studying as we were allowed to work full time. Got my PGWP few months back. Adding up the length of full time, it is up to a full year.
So work experience while you were a student for a Canadian company doesn’t count for Express Entry. That is why you are not eligible. So if you don’t have a year of foreign experience outside Canada then you are not eligible for FSW. Wait a year to be eligible for CEC.Students were allowed to work unlimited hours until 1st of May 2024 if you remember. It is not a remote job and the company is here in Canada

For FSW and not if studying or working in Canada. That was what I thought but i read this on the IRCC website and that was what prompted me to apply. I was paid, It was continuous.
Student work experience
Work experience gained while you were studying may count towards your minimum requirements if the work:
- was paid by wages or commissions
- was continuous (no gaps in employment), and
- meets all the other requirements of the Program
