Express entry passport expiration issue

Hello,

I have applied for express entry and we just got a message from IRCC requesting for copy of new passport within 7 days.


Passport/Travel Document: Please provide a copy of your new passport. This must be received at
this office by: 2020/06/19

At time of applying, my passport was valid for 11 months. Now it's valid for 4 months. I am now applying for tatkal passport but it will not be ready in 7 days due to covid delays.

Is it possible to get an extension or will the application be rejected due to passport only having 4 months validity? As per IRCC website, it only says passport should have 6 months validity at the time of application.

I also need to apply for my passport as it's less than 6 months. IRCC should not refuse your application as stated on their website. Due to this pandemic, you may not be able to get it within the requested time line. Please raise a Webform and let them know what's going on. All the best. Please keep me posted.

Hello Matt, I'm in same situation. Can you please tell me if you got the extension to submit passport ?
