Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi Everyone,

I know no one really knows what actually is going to happen to those of us who were hoping to go through the CEC; however, I would really appreciate if anyone can give me an advice about what to do next.

If they don't pick me from the pool for the PR in May 2015 with a 1-year work experience, then I feel that there really is no hope for me, and waiting for longer to be "picked" by a Canadian employer seems hopeless. I currently have a job, but it is a "low-skilled job". That's why the provincial government does not let me apply through them. Some people suggested that I try to get a "skilled job" in a completely different field than my own, and work for a year, then go through the Federal Skilled Worker Category (which will also be affected by the EE).

It is really consuming me to the point that I started looking into moving to a European country and start everything all over again. I sometimes wish I graduated last year (rather than this year) and would have had my 1-year work experience by now and applied through CEC. But it's too late for should've, would've, could've...

If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

I cannot appreciate enough for your valuable comments, and looking forward to them,

Hey man,

Don't lose hope like that! I once was in your shoes! But I said to myself I have struggled enough to give up now. I once was an international student, with one year work permit. I once worked my ass off (sometimes not getting paid) just to fight back and get what I deserved. I once used to sleep in my car, when everybody were having fun on christmas night, I was at uni studying my ass off to get better grades to land a good job to apply for CEC. I can go on and on and on, but I leave it for now, cause I'm sure you know what I mean.

First off, they are not going to take out the CEC category, this is a fact, they might tight it up a little but they would not lose fresh graduates over nothing. Express entry (as the name suggests) is mostly focused on immigrants getting into Canada from outside the country, so rest assured, you'll be safe.

Secondly, you never know what is going to happen when you wake up tomorrow. So stop worrying and do your best while you have your eyes open for new opportunities.

Thirdly, and I can not emphasize on this enough, don't lose your grip mate! Just don't. Stick to what you want, and fight for it. Immigration is not an easy task, nobody said it will go swimmingly, it's hard, there will be times that you will think about giving up every second of the day, but just don't! Tell yourself: "I will finish this, I will finish what I started! I will finish this, no matter what!"

So there you have it, I don't know you mate, but I know giving up is not a solution, unless you will have one banging life waiting for you in Europe, then by all means, go ahead. Don't waste your time any longer. But the truth of the reality is, you came to this country for a reason right? Don't leave it behind, don't skip a step, just do them one by one and patiently.

Too much talking from me tonight.

Wish you all the best mate,

Hey buddy, like rezafc told, the key is keep swimming. Don’t loose hope. I did not do that much struggle but I was so worried like you with all the questions what if, what would happen? how I would make it? what if I don't get skilled job?... etc....

Now,since you can not do anything much at the moment before we know how EE would work. They still have to disclose the fine prints. I am sure that they don't want to put big part of country income of international students in ordinary bucket. Secondly, why they are setting the pool because they want to immigrate those people who would have more chances to get settled down in Canada than other. Obviously, who studied in Canada and working here have more chances to settle down and they are younger too to pay taxes to govt for their whole life.

Think positively and enjoy your present. Think about this when EE launched.
