Express Entry LMIA

Hi All,

I need your help. I got my IELTS score L:6.5 Reading:6 Writing:6 Speaking:7 I am landing with 360 points overall for express entry and i understand i will not get ITA with such low points. However, my consultant is suggesting to opt for LMIA process where in there is chances of getting offer letter so that i will get 600 points (600+360=960 points) if i have employment offer letter i can get the ITA letter as soon as possible. Moreover, he is charging 1.2 lakh rupees from me for the processing fees. I have over 7 years of experience working as IT Recruiter in US Staffing industry do you guys think can I get employment offer letter through LMIA? Is it legitimate to opt for LMIA process? What are the chances of getting offer letter through LMIA? If yes, how many weeks it may process to get the offer letter? Is there anyone who works in US or Canadian Staffing industry in this forum? Can anyone please suggesting I am in conundrum situation.

It doesn't sound like you understand what an LMIA. An employment letter is not enough to get the 600 points. The employer also needs to obtain an approved LMIA (this is not something you or your consultant can obtain - the employer has to do it). It's typically extremely difficult to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process. If someone is charging you money for a job offer and approved LMIA - it's most likely a scam.

In short, only an employer in Canada can give you an employment contract and only the employer can provide you lmia. You may try applying in jobbank and find a job that is related to your experience.
