Hi Guys,

I'm was an International Student, and now I have PGWP and one year of full time Canadian work experience (within Ontario).

As we all know that we require LMIA or PNP nomination, to get an extra 600 points under the new Express Entry CRS system. So, before I request my employer for any one of these, just want to know, which one of these process is faster and better?

Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Cheers,

Cheers,
LMIA = cost $1000 to your employer but is fast
PNP = cost $1500 to you but takes time (~ 6 to 1 year)

LMIA for PR purposes is free. But requires many other conditions (prevalent wage, job ad specs, etc)

PNP depends on your province may not need LMIA, but takes time.

But on the LMIA Application form, there is no where to select for PR application to in order to be exempted from the $1000 fee. Please do you know more about this?

Thanks

You won't find that on the form. It is the thing which is taken care by your employer so you don't need to worry. :)

That's all well and good but there doesn't seem to be any way for employers to obtain these free LMIAs.

Hi,
My company is a start up, but it is a branch belongs to a foreign company. It's been operating just for 3 months now. and Im on a PGWP.
So my question is that is my company eligible to get a LMIA? how long is it going to take? is there any financial requirements for my company to apply for the LMIA?

Thank you very much, any thought is much appreciated.

Would you please explain if you know about prevalent wage(I.e. Database Analyst(2172) & $25 n hour) are these numbers positive towards LMIA ??

Hi,
My company is an mid range oil company in Calgary and has 24 peoples (only 2 foreign worker), my title is administrative assistant $21.5/hour. and I am holding PGWP expire on Aug 31/2016, I am wondering since I can't apply for CEC, could I apply AINP and LMIA both at same time? and does the my job title will affect to having an negative result?

Thank you very much for your advise, much appreciated.

Why can't you apply CEC?

check if Alberta has Express entry program. Province might be able to nominate you under the EE pool. (BC and Sask PNP has a Express entry stream. Others may join later)

My original thought is you can get into EE pool and seek for PNP at the same time. But there are people in the forum here reporting the province is not confirming their existing nomination to EE pool. So situation here is a little spooky.

did not see any news saying that 6 noc title is open now. so I dont think I can apply under CEC. and I think I can only go under AINP international graduated stream which is over 25 month, so thats why I am think to apply LMIA as well. My company will do whatever takes as long as I am still using the same title tho.

Thank you very much for sharing me.

I'm not so sure if the ban list is still in effect. Back in 2014, there is a section at the top of CEC introduction page noting the 6 banned NOC. And now it's gone. And it doesn't go inline with CIC's direction of removing all NOC restrictions into EE pool.

I am not sure.

My company has submitted the pre-screen application for the Ontario PNP (under international student with job offer stream) but it's been 4 months without hear anything so I propose them to apply for the LMIA since it is free now for the EE, but they said that it is not possible for them since it is not just about the $1000 fee, there are more costs involved (paying lawyer, setting up the job ad, interviewing people and many other things).
