Hello friends

I have 3 degrees from India ( BCS , MCM and MBA-IT ) , I did the ECA from WES and below got results but I am confused what should be valid for EE

In Summary
CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Bachelor's degree (four years)

1.Under Credential Analysis
Credential: Bachelor of Computer Science
Institution Status: Recognized
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (three years)

2.Credential: Master of Computer Management
Institution Status: Recognized
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

3.Credential: Master of Business Administration
Institution Status: Non-recognized
Canadian Equivalency: Master's degree from a non-recognized institution

can anyone has face such situation or any idea ?

Thanks
DJ

Very common equivalence summary.

Others have challenged WES reports successfully in the recent past and if you can get WES to revise the 'overall equivalency' to read as 'Bachelors degree (4 years) & Bachelors degree (3 years)', you can choose the '2 or more...' option as Canadian equivalency. With this report, you should choose Canadian equivalency as 'Bachelors'. Write back to WES and wait for their response.

All the best!

Thanks for clarification ...it helps :)

Have additional question , while filing the EE profile for education we add each row for each degree and it asks for ECA for each degree so does it mean to add ECA details only for what is mentioned in Summary Equivalence section ? or for all degrees as WES has given Canadian Equivalency for each degree ?

Thanks
DJ

For each individual degree, provide the individual equivalency of that degree. For overall summary of qualifications, provide the overall equivalency.

For now you should put 2 or more degrees (Bachelors) and then challenge them.

Excuse me Asivad but what do you mean "For overall summary of qualifications", there is no field to fill that in the education form of EE profile.

I have asked wes to change my summary using their contact form and they did issue a revised report. Go for it.

@ Asivad Anac - Though you have provided to enter ECA for each degree it will consider only one degree ( Bachelors ) , also when WES does says Bachelor Degree ( 4 Years ) , does it mean that they do not understand what my 2 Years program was and they ad additional 2 Years ? so basically to have option os " 2 or more degrees " I should have 3+2 pattern , but here they have consider my 3+2 pattern to only 4 years ....is this what it indicates

@ Aal_ & Prats6 - Thanks for your inputs and advise , yes agreed there is no such field of "Overall Summary" in EE but I am not sure i can use option of " 2 or more degrees " , my 3 years bachelor is consider as 3 years here , but 2 years master is consider as 4 years bachelor ( from where they ad 2 extra years ) also on CIC , no where it is mentioned as 2 bachelor degrees are consider under this option

Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
Important notice: One must be for a program of three or more years.
ECA assessment results:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

does anyone know if CIC will accept " 2 or more degrees " option if have 2 bachelor degrees ?

also have raised query to EE and WES , hope so they respond in time

Thanks
DJ

It's been a while since I looked up the form so my memory is a little rusty here. Does it not prompt for overall equivalence anywhere?

Nope, no prompt of overall equivalency. Just individual ones. Now this is in the profile phase. Post ITA I have no idea.

Thank you guys...

I did challenged WES and now received upgraded report with

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Bachelor's degree (three years) and bachelor's degree (four years)

so i guess i can use the option of "2 or more ..."

any thoughts ?

Thank you !

I have Master degree too but from Non-recognized institution

Canadian Equivalency: Master's degree from a non-recognized institution

does CIC consider only recognized institution ?

Its not clear on CIC website but assuming it won't consider non-recognized institute but don't have clear answer

Hi DJ_ADHAV, did you find any answer to this. I am in same situation and WES isn't ready to correct it despite the fact that my PG institute is well known B school
