Hi ,

Can anyone please tell me if one meets the criterion for minimum points in any given draw , after that is it competitive (top points picked first) or is it simply a lottery (luck of the draw) process ? ....I mean if its just lottery whats the advantage of having higher scores ? esp as this year the minimum cutoff for all draws has been significantly lower than last year (in general )

The cut-off score is what matters, higher scores are not treated differently or preferentially when compared to lower scores above the cut-off.

If you have the minimum score in the draw, you receive ITA. That's it. The minimum CRS is the only selection factor.

So having a CRS of 900 is great because it guarantees that you will meet the minimum CRS. But if the minimum CRS for a particular draw is 500, then those additional 400 points don't help you.

Nothing has changed since last year. The cut off is just stricter the past three months, but things should go back to normal once the problems subside.
