express entry as a lawyer

I am an American lawyer. Would this qualify for express entry? Do I have to be living in Canada to apply for PR, or can I do that while still in the usa?

Provided you have at least 1 year of full time experience - yes, you can apply. You would apply from the US.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean in the same skill set as your education? If so, then no - the experience doesn't have to match with your education. However the experiences does need to be NOC A, B or 0 skill level.
