After the change on 15th Dec 2016 you can no longer do FAMILY upfront. This has lead to much confusion amongst EE people needing to do upfront medicals. Fact is, now people are doing Worker(Non EDE) for PA and Spouse and visitor/student for accompanying children... Seem to be working, I think at present they will accept any kind of medical you can do as they do the same initial tests for all...

Congrats on your ITA. Like Skywalker_RT said the letter is enough so long as it has your balances for teh last 6 months... Basically you need something like this - [redacted]

As for medicals how long ago did you do you medicals? If it was 1-3 months then I think it's OK to go with them, if it's been more than 6 months then you'll need to redo them. The problem you may encounter if your medicals are like 5 months old is that you'll have less time to land... The medicals are valid for 12 months, after which you'll need to redo them if you visa is not ready (like our friend lbrambilla here). The whole PR processe USUALLY takes 6 months... So basically if you still have 7 months left on you medicals then you risk only having ONE month to land once you get your PR VISA.
Yeah, I've seen that model document before - I've sent it to my bank and am waiting for them to.. approve it or something.

Regarding the medicals, they were done in the first week of December, so 1 month and a half or so. Mine is a Non-EDE Worker and my wife's is the Non-EDE Student type. I checked the documentation and didn't find any difference between them, and when we had them done the guys at the lab said those were the only two options.. I'm thinking of going with them, yeah.

So I'm going through the list of docs to upload and suddenly realize it says "Police Certificates (Multiple). Can any of you tell me if you got the same request, in case you haven't lived abroad since you were 18? I have visited the US a bunch of times, no sure if the total time exceeds the 6 month limit. Just wondering if any of you might have gotten the same request and if so, did you submit just the one from Brazil and was it ok? Starting to freak out, please advise...
I believe (not sure) the police certificate is required when you lived in a place for longer than 6 months. I did my masters in the US (2 years total) so I am including the FBI clearance certificate, but if you had just had trips, I do not think you need one.. Anyway keep in mind that while the Brazilian certificate is done online, the US one is done by mail, and takes about 3 months to be delivered.

Hi Oliver, thanks for the reply. I was afraid that the total period of my trips to the US might have exceeded the 6 month limit, but I added them up and thankfully it's a no! So I'm ok... Phewww!!! It would've been a pain to have to go after it this late in the game!

Hey guys, one more here. I'm from Goiás and I'm preparing to enter EE pool. My IELTS test will be next month along with ECA. TEF will be on May. Guess I'm going to get something around 450 CRS. So, if everything goes well, I'm good to go with EE. If not, then I'll go to OINP (French Stream).

I've some questions.
1 - About proof of funds, I've a supplemental pension plan (SPP) at my current employer. As soon as I quit this job, this sum of money will be transferred to my checking account. But I'm only going to do that when I' about to move to Canada. I've a electronic account statement issued by the institution, but I'm not able to get a signature in it because almost everything is online. In my taxes, there are proofs of this investment for the last 5 years. Can I use this SPP as proof of funds?
I've about 60% of necessary in my checking account (had some problems and used a part) and I'm selling some properties where I invested my money, but I'm worried that I'm not gonna sell them so soon. So I need a plan B just to show proof of funds, and this SPP alone could solve this problem.

2 - Anyone knows how much medicals exams will cost me? Can I use some health insurance to cover it?

Opa bem vindo! :D

1) Not sure, I suppose if you provide very clear documentation (and all translated so it will cost you quite a bit) that proves that as soon as you quit your job amount X will be made available in your account then yes, if not then I doubt you'll be able to as they do state that all funds must be unencumbered and readily available... But do get opinions from other members!

2) Medical check up cost me R$400 and the clinical tests (blood and xray) I used my health plan to do (so no cost). The check up value probably differs from place to place so phone the nearest panel physician to you and ask. You'll get a receipt and you can then claim that against your health plan, but how much you get back is up to your health plan.

1 - No. SPP do not have the characteristic of cashing the money at any time. You cannot transfer it today to your checking account, or cashing it today.
The rule is: Your money must be free to be transfered today.
Do not risk it.

2 - In Rio, they cost up to R$700 and are not covered by any medical plans.

Good luck!
