Hi, g126!
I am also in a common law relationship and I have the same doubt the declaration IMM5409E.PDF.
When you got your translator to sign the common law declaration, which option did you choose:
- notary public,
- commissioner of oaths;
- commissioner of taking affidavits ?

Thanks!!

Happy new year to everyone!
Hi... well about that, my translator asked me to make sure this is OK with the consulate first so I've written an email to them. But it will be "Commissioner of taking affdavits", as she is neither a commissioner of oaths or a notary public.

I'll let you know how I get on... ;-)

Guys, do you submit your national identify document RG before AOR? If so did you translate the document?

No, My ID document was my passport. Additionally, for my wife, I had to send our Marriage Certificate, since she had a name change.

I will ask my translator if he would sign it... Apparently, there is not much information about this subject...

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share with you all that my family and I landed in Toronto on the 26th of December.

Landing went smooth, and also in the airport we had our SIN Numbers generated - now I feel like someone in Canada.

We came back to Brazil on the 30th of December (really quick trip  ) and now we are starting to prepare our things to move definetelly - but we have no final date yet.

Hope to see you all in Canada really soon!

Hey Guys,
how are you all doing?

I finally got a CLB 9 for my IELTS test. I took the test at Dec 10th and received the results last friday. I was afraid that I was not going to reach good marks because I had some trouble with the writing and listening, but at the end the results were just what I needed. L8 R9 S7 W7 :D :D :D.

I am now sitting at 414 CRS points. Hopefully OINP will reopen with a similar criteria as 2016 ;D.

Meanwhile, I will be applying for Study Permit in the beggining of 2017 as I am going to Canada (Ontario) in August/2017. I will take a post-grad program on construction management. I am just deciding which college. In June I will conclude my MBA course which will give me more points and when we get to Canada my wife will take the CELPIP test. Also in January I will start studying French to pursue more points once I get there. I am hoping that by the end of 2017 I can be at somewhere between 465 - 475 CRS points.

Do you guys know if my Study Permit can be denied if I am in the express entry pool? ???

Thanks to you all!

Good luck!
I don't think that your study permit can be denied if you are in the pool... I didn't apply to a study Visa when I was in the pool, but I applied for a temporary resident (tourism) visa when my application was already been assessed by CiC. I had no problem - got my tourist visa, went to canada, spent 20 days there, got back home and 3 months later I got my PPR.

Congratulations for your CLB 9! I got pretty much the same as you did when I took IELTS exam! And just a heads up, I had to withdraw my profile and then create a new one, as Ontario wouldn't consider my profile (the original one was created prior to the beggining of Ontario's program.)

Hmmm cool, just re-read the profile and it seems that I only need to include my RG if I don't have a passport... So I've removed my RG.

Guys/Galera,

I'm in the process of getting my docs together for eAPR and I have the following doubt... Looking at the IRCC website it states the following:
Translation of documents

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with a copy of the original document as well as a version translated by a certified translator.

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
a certified photocopy of the original document.
For OINP I just submitted the original document and the translations done by a sworn translator. For EE do I need to do anything differently? I'm freaking out about the certified photocopy of the original document.

It's exactly the same thing...

It's whats written in this fragment you quoted:

Translation of documents

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

the English or French translation; and -> This is the document's translation
an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and -> This is the signature of the sworn translator - usually the last page of the translation (Autenticação do documento)
a certified photocopy of the original document. -> The copy of the original document, in portuguese

Same same.

Guys,

Finally... after joining this thread last year whilst waiting for my OINP Nomination I looked upon you with envy thinking that I wished I could be complaining about how long my PPR was taking, instead I'm still waiting for my nomination... And good GOD, OINP had many problems last year and took a long time to issue the nominations!

But finally... Finally I've got my AOR and I'm now waiting for PPR, so I can joining you guys on complaining about how slow the São Paulo Visa Office is being! :p

Anyway, I got my AOR on the 7th of Jan and I'm now waiting and wondering about the next steps... I've been told that once Eligibility and Medicals both have status PASSED the file moves to the local VO... Is that how it went with you guys? When did you know your file had moved to São Paulo? And how long did each phase approximately take? All I could remember is that it took over 6 months when it reached SP.

Hi G126! Congrats!!!

I didnt really understand at which point in the process you are. You received the nomination from OINP and sent all douments do CiC and now is waiting the federal part to process your application?

If you already got the nomination from OINP, and then received the ITA from CiC, and sent all your documentation to CiC i believe you are on the way to your PPR!

In my case, I got my nomination from OINP in December 2015, and, due to some problems, I got my AOR from CiC on march 30th.

After that, I could see through GCMS notes that in JUNE 8th my file was assessed and moved to Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo took from June 8th to November 30th to issue me a PPR, so, it took me 8 months on the CiC side. Add to that 5 months prior for my OINP nomination. =D

It will all work out! Best of luck!

So I got my AOR from IRCC/CIC two days ago... now the next phase of waiting begins.

So your file moved to São Paulo about 2 months after the AOR... OK, good to know!

From 30th March to 8th of June what was the status like on you MyCIC page? I mean, when did Elegibilty and Medicals go to passed?

Was your background check in progress from June all the way to Nov?

Medicals were passed on April 6th.
Background check went in progress on the day I got my PPR - so, they changed my BG check to "In Progress" November 30th.
