Express Entry after starting Paper based application process.

Please I need input from anyone who is knowledgable about this or knows someone in same shoes.
My spouse and I already started paper based CIC application through provincial nomination because we thought we couldnt meet EE cutoff scores. We know better now about what to do to improve our score and get ITA easily.

My question is will it be a problem if wewant to pursue EE route as well? Especially with current wait time in our VO being two years or over for paperbased .

Is there a rule forbidding processing EE while having a paper based application in process?
