Hello,

My CRS is at 447. I recently got married on 20th Aug (registration in the court of law is yet yo happen soon)

My question is how soon do I have to declare my marriage in the profile? Is there a deadline?

If I will add my spouse because she doesn’t have an IELTS score and an ECA my points are decreasing that is when I choose the accompanying to Canada as yes. The points are same when I choose not accompanying to Canada.

Can I declare my marriage and choose not accompanying to be saved from a decrease in points And later when she gets her IELTS and ECA done I can go back and select yes to accompanying?

Thanks.

Your score is not very high in the first place. But you can still choose non accompanying to retain your present score, but the sponsorship later may take upto a year after you land in Canada. If you're okay with that, go for it. Otherwise get ECA for your to be wife and make her sit for an IELTS test. That way she can add to the profile.

I want to accomapnay with her. So should I wait for her ECA and IELTS then declare that I am married? Won’t it be too late and wouldn’t this come under ‘hiding info’ because have heard any personal life changes should be updated in the application.

Have you received an ITA?
If not, you're able to modify family information anytime. It is not misinformation.

No ITA. So I can select ‘not accompanying’ right now and when my wife gets her ECA and IELTS I can then update as accompanying and add the ECA and IELTS?

Set it to married and non accompanying when you get your marriage certificate. Before that, there's no need.
After getting ECA and IELTS, check your score. If it remains similar, then set to accompanying, otherwise let it be non accompanying.
