Express Entry 6month contract

Hello,
I studied in Canada and have been working full time for 1 year. My work extended the contract for only 6moths more due to the COVID-19 circumstances with a possibility of extending after the 6months.
I'm applying for PR soon, but I was told that because it is a 6 month contract and a job not related to my field pf studies I don't get points. Has anyone been in this position or knows about this?

Thank you for the response. I'm not self employed, I've been working for a non profit for over a year. Yes, I'm on a PGWP that ends right in the date I could get the two years experience. I'm afraid the name of my job is not on the NOC but the description of my job contract matches with a NOC B.
