Hello,

I'm in a tight situation right now, and I hope the seniors will be able to help me with my situation.

I just check my ecas, and it says decision made. As I have not received my MR, i'm sure I'll receive my rejection email soon.

Not only that, but my Post Grad work permit will expires on Nov. 08. I did send a Bridging Open work permit application on Oct. 16. However, I think that if my PR application is rejected, BOWP application will be rejected too.

So, I'm hoping if seniors have any idea of what I should do?

Thanks,

When did you apply for CEC?
have you ordered your GCMS notes? Do it immediately so you can see what happened
You may get BOWP for a year which will buy you some time. Otherwise if the rejection comes through you may have to find an employer to get you an LMO while you work on your new application

Do you fear refusal because of your experience being counted from the day of graduation ? If it is because of reference letter, did you send updated letter of reference ?

hey guys, thanks for the fast reply.

lpc19800 ,

I applied for CEC on Nov. 13 2012, and received my AOR on January 17 2013. And I had just applied for my GCMS on Oct. 16, 2013. So, here's to hoping it come soon enough that I'll know how to fix this sit.

eds1275 ,

I think it is a refusal, because that's usually what happen, when ecas says "decidion made" before any medical request. Do you think CEC will still take account of updated ref. letter in this situation though?

Why would you fear refusal? If you had everything fine, I would not think its refusal.

Yes, however, my ecas says:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 19, 2012.

We started processing your application on October 25, 2013.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Usually, if the decision is made without any medical request, it is a sign of refusal.

Prepare for a refusal.

Prepare your documents for next application. You can apply from outside Canada too, if you have to leave.

But don't lose hope until u see that rejection letter.

I see your NOC is 1241. Are you concerned that your duties may not satisfy the officer, because it's a tricky NOC, hence you expect rejection?

I do worry about that too. However, at the moment, I am more concerned with the fact that my e-cas status was changed into decision made. This was done without any medical request, which in most cases means that the application will be refused.

I'm just worrying what to do, as I am currently in the process of applying for my bridging open work permit. However, when my cec application is rejected, I would not qualify for the bridging open work permit.

To start with there is nothing tricky about NOC 1241. If you were an administrative assistant and you performed most of the duties under the NOC you should be fine. Even if for some reason they confuse you with a general office clerk, you can always challenge the decision by submitting a cover letter requesting and administrative review and submitting additional supporting documents to address the V.O's concerns. Although the burden of proof is on you to show that you carried out those duties, officers usually are supposed to give the benefit of doubt, unless there's reason to suspect you didn't perform those duties. For example, what's the make up of your office, is it the type of business that requires an administrative assistant?

That being said when you were submitting you application did you have any concerns? or perhaps doubt? if you have a copy of your job duties can you post it leaving out all your personal information. What where you ielt scores like? how did you count your hours? Did you start working before your convocation? These are questions you should ask yourself. A huge percentage of people that get refused have a slight idea.

LOL so true. Still, feels a little tiring, because I've been here for 8 years, and this happens. Now, I'm running around like a headless chicken, just trying to fix this. Feels discouraged, especially when my colleagues (natives) were kind enough to make a joke of my situation when i told them.
