I arrived from Ukraine 4 months ago with my old visa I had, along with my Ukraine passport. The old visa I had expired a month ago, but I have my work permit which is valid for 3 more years. The work permit is wired to the Ukrainian passport.

I know I can’t re enter Canada with just my work permit.

But I have another passport, Romanian, with a valid ETA.

I plan to travel to Cuba in a week for vacation, so the question is; can I use my Romanian passport to leave and come back to Canada if I have a work permit wired to my Ukrainian passport?

And is there a possibility I can somehow lose my work permit because I came to canada as a Ukrainian escaping from war without letting them know I have Romanian citizenship, and if somehow they find out when I arrive that I never told them about my Romanian citizenship?

Do you actually have an approved CUETA? When filling it out I assume you needed to declare details such as other citizenships. Lying about your Romanian citizenship could be a huge issue for years to come. It is first of all misrepresentation but also defeats the purpose of the program which was offering Ukrainians who needed a safe place to stay because they had no other place to go. I would be consulting a lawyer. This will get discovered at some point and it would be much better if you were the one advising Canada that you didn’t declare your Romanian citizenship versus Canada discovering you lied when you try to enter Canada, apply to renew a visa/permit, apply for PR, apply for citizenship, etc. If you use your Romanian passport to attempt to return to Canada and are questioned on how you entered Canada (if the IT system hasn’t already identified that you also have a Ukrainian passport) it is going to come out that you have been living in Canada under CUETA but arrived on a TRV in your Ukrainian passport.

I have my CUETA work permit. And I don’t remember them asking about another citizenship.
Do you think it would be best to cancel my tickets, or should I risk it?
In the worst possible scenario, what could they do if they find out that I have another citizenship with CUETA status?
And do you know if there is a way I can renew my visa and fly with it in 5 days?
Thank you very much!
