Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with my enquiry.
I am an Australian planning on travelling to Canada on a temporary working visa later in 2013. When I applied for my Visa, my passport expiry was September 2015 (a little less than two years from my entry date). When I was approved for my Visa, the validity date they have given me for my Visa expires August 2014 – which only gives me 8 months in Canada (which is much less than what I was hoping for).
I want to now renew my passport so I can enter Canada for two years and work. Does any one know whether renewing my passport now, after my Visa application has been approved will affect my Visa? I was hoping to renew my passport and also re apply for my Visa so they can then allow me to stay for two years. Can this be done?
I am kicking myself for not renewing my passport before the Visa application was submitted.
