I would want to ask help regarding LMO and contract. I'm from the Philippines. A job was offered as a live -in caregiver somewhere in Nova Scotia (through an agency in the Philippines, with the help of a "broker" in Canada). Initial processing of application was done. An LMO was given which includes ten applicants(so same system file number for everyone included in the said LMO). A contract as duly signed by the employer maybe(not sure how valid the contract is despite presence of these signatures). Next step of processing was done as important papers were worked out,as said by agency, so as for the application of permit be done. Our worry is that ,first, the LMO's expiry date is October 31,2013. The contract also stated that the job resumption was dated January 27, 2013 where in our application for visa was I think submitted in the embassy sometime August this year. As of now, the agency is reiterating that we just have to wait for the said "medical referral" which is said to be the next step. three months have passed and no update was given yet. This is what I am anxious about since there's no reassurance if this is really true.
1. With the situation above, is the work still valid despite expiry of the LMO and the job resumption date was last January 27, 2013?
2. How could we know if this work really is genuine and really existing?
3. what would be the best thing to do for this matter?
Thank you for the information. Kindly send your message through this email:its_jcd_junior@yahoo.com

If you paid money to get this job - it's probably a scam.

The processing time for live-in caregiver work permits from the Philippines is currently 18 months. You still have a long time to wait.
