Good morning folks:

I have been working for a company in India from June 17th, 2019. But after a month of working, they have sent me to Dubai to train and work with their sister company. And I have been working in Dubai ever since (August). So my question is even though, I am in the Indian company payroll, can I use Dubai work as part of my foreign work experience. I am on a visitor visa in Dubai as there is no other work visa available for me in this particular situation but I have all the payslips form Indian company stating I have been getting paid regularly every month regardless of my location.
  • What kind of documents do I need to get from my employer (Indian)?
  • Do I need to get any letter from my Dubai company, if so, working under a visitor visa wouldn't cause any problem in the later stage of my application when they check my travel history?
  • I will be leaving Dubai next month because my training is about to finish. (So I have worked in Dubai for about 4 months)
P.S. I have completed my study in Canda and have 2 years of work experience, but after completing a year of foreign work experience, I would have enough points to apply for Express Entry. Please, any valuable advice from you guys will be greatly appreciated.

As long as you are being paid and are on the payroll and your reference letter includes this time period, it can be counted as valid work experience.

1. You only need the reference letter as per IRCC standard's.
2. No, you are an employee of your Indian company. I don't think so, your visa it would pose any problem, with Canada, because you are not there for work but for training, I don't know if it is an issue with Dubai (check Dubai laws).
3. Your dubai work experience is part of the total experience with the Indian company because you were on the Indian company's payroll and had been in Dubai for training.

Thank you I really appreciate that.
