Dear Sirs,
Can any one suggest us a possible solution please ? Let me explain my case in brief. I have been staying in the U.A.E for the past 16 years, presently working in Sharjah.

After 5 years of process ,I landed along with my wife and daughter in Canada in july 2003. We spent one month and returned back to Dubai. The Second time, I went for another 20 days in june 2008 just before the expiry of my PR.

My wife and daughter had acquired PR cards for the second time. My wife is presently in Canada and my daughter is with me in Dubai. My wife appeared for the citizenship exam in Nov 2011 and till now she is waiting for the oath. my daughter’s PR is valid till June 2015, I believe she does not have any problem entering Canada till such time.hope its correct..........!

Now, we all want to be united in Canada as soon as possible.

1. What is the procedure? Can I submit the application for a travel document in Abu Dhabi?
2. What are the chances of getting acceptance and how long is it going to take?
3. Is it wise to obtain a US visit visa and enter Canada, by a private car, along with my Canadian friends?
4. Up on reaching in canada, is it possible for me to go on short visits (in case of emergencies) to India.
5. Can I apply for a PR card up on reaching, how long is it going to take?
Best regards
K.p

1. Yes - you can try applying for a travel document. Since you have not fulfilled the residency obligation, there's a good chance the TD will be refused. If the TD is refused, your wife will have to sponsor your for PR.
2. The chances of a refusal are high. I don't know how long it will take.
3. You will still need a TD to enter Canada. You can't enter on an expired PR card. (I'm assuming you're not from a visa exempt country.)
4. No - you will have to remain in Canada until you have met the residency requirement of living in Canada for 730 days out of the last 5 years. If you leave before you have met the residency requirement and renewed your PR card, you will need another TD to return. It's extremely unlikely you would be granted another TD.
5. No - you must wait until you have met the residency obligation (living in Canada 730 days out of the last 5 years) before applying to renew your PR card.

expaired PR card. dubai -usa- canada will it work?

Dear scylla,
Thank you very much for the replay. is it a must for me to apply in Abudhabi to obtain refusal? based on that refusal my wife has to apply? or she can apply directly.iam from india.

my thoughts are if i get US visit visa i can traval to beffelo and by land to canada.

i have first landing document its appirs "conformation of permanet residence " and expaired PR card with me.is it suffecient ,if iam entering through US border is still required a TD. if yes from where i will obtain one?
some where i read that any one can enter through US by land with the landing document.its valid for life time. is it true.
