Hi,

I received an exclusion order in April 2026 by CBSA in Montreal when i was returning to Canada after getting an approved LMIA work permit. It was due to unauthorized work for 7 months while i was waiting a decision on my visitor extension.

I have the departure order and the exclusion is for 1 year. I am learning french. My current crs is 473.

I am hoping to clear french this year and apply for pr under ee next year after my ban expires.

I would like to know how this exclusion order will impact my application and what can i do to make my application strong and do people in similar situations ever get approved for pr after the exclusion order? What are my chances of coming back?

Would appreciate all the legal advice, similar experiences and truth.

Not a lawyer so its not a legal advice -
An exclusion order can affect future PR or temporary applications, so I’d strongly suggest speaking with a Canadian immigration lawyer before applying again. The key issues are whether the 1-year exclusion period has fully passed, whether your departure was properly confirmed, and whether you need Authorization to Return to Canada.

Do not hide the overstay or exclusion order in any future application, because that can create a much bigger misrepresentation issue. Gather your CBSA papers, departure confirmation, visitor extension proof, LMIA/work permit documents, and get legal advice on how to disclose and explain everything properly.

It does not always mean you can never come back, but it needs to be handled carefully. If you need find an immigration lawyer quickly - try Olanur platform - its a Free to use Canadian platform where you can quickly connect with immigration attorneys to get legal advice(you can also request free consultation)

Usually, when you are past your time for exclusion - you should be fine. Talk to a lawyer (Canadian immigration lawyer that's not from the pind) and see what else you need here. You are very likely going to be good, but avoid fraud/misrep/or anything like that in general.
