exchange of an ALBERTA driving license in QUEBEC

hi everyone,

can anyone please shed some lights if they have any valuable informations.

i would like to know if a class 7 learners license from alberta can be exchanged for the same in quebec or not....also would like to know if a holder of an alberta class 7 learners license for more then 12 months can directly pass a road test in quebec and get his class 5 or he/she has to start all over again and hold a quebec class 7 learners license for another 12 months...if you have any infos please help.

You should be accepted into the system in Quebec at the same stage you were in AB so you do not have to do any more waiting time just because you move.

are you sure about that because i have been told by someone that a learner license from any other province can not be exchanged for the same in quebec,it has to be a class 5 license specially that quebec require its class 7 holders to enroll in a driving school while its not mandatory in alberta

No, I am not 100% sure about it but that's how it works in every other province. Say if you moved every year, you would always be on a learners and never go past that. To make sure though, contact Quebec SAAQ at http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/reach_us/phone.php

According to their site here: http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/faq/driving_course.php#q27 they will also credit you with your driving experience if you have a probationary license from another province so I don't see why they shouldn't do it with learners. You would however have to take the mandatory driving course.
